Label all specimen containers with the patient's name, date of birth, and/or ID
number. At least two identifiers must be listed on all specimen containers.
A valid test requisition signed by the ordering physician must accompany the
specimen within the shipping container.
OCD-100 buccal swab specimen deliveries are accepted Monday-Saturday.
Specimens must be shipped to the laboratory in compliant shipping containers.
Secure liquid sample in a watertight inner receptacle. The inner receptacle
must contain absorbent material capable of containing the liquid in the
case of a spill and must be securely closed.
Secure the primary inner receptacle within a secondary container
for shipping, such as the FedEx clinical pak.
OCD-100 buccal specimens are stable at room temperature for up
to 80 days.
